Although freeing the body is a physical act, Naturism is actually an intellectual exercise. To recognize the harm caused by the objectification and hypersexualisation of our bodies is a battle of logic against the intense emotion of gymnophobia. For many, reading seems to fit naturally into that rejuvenation of the mind. Not just to learn about naturism but for the sheer pleasure of the wisdom, distraction, and amusement that can be found in the written words.
For years, members and visitors had donated books and the collection had grown unwieldy. So in 2015 we formalized the library a bit. We registered with LittleFreeLibrary.org; Todd built beautiful bookshelves; and Judy (pictured) organized them (including an entire kids’ section). The library can be found in the lower level of the clubhouse.
