There are two articles about naturism in today’s Toronto Star. The main article, ‘Interest sags in nude retreats’ is about clubs in Toronto being for sale or sold. It evolved from an Associated Press press story about a week ago on the aging of the naturist population. Those who followed that story know that I disagree with the inference that naturism only appeals to old people. My point is that most clubs started in the 50’s and 60’s and it’s a natural evolution that many of those clubs are in need of renewal. It was not my intent to make Bare Oaks look good in relation to others. However, the reporter did her job and called around other clubs to get more information. Glen Echo, in particular, was very forthcoming with information. I certainly can’t complain. The article will now be read more widely because it has some controversy and conflict. But people will also read that Bare Oaks is where the renewal starts!

The Toronto Star has a bigger circulation than any other newspaper in Canada. Even though its circulation is concentrated in the Greater Toronto area, it still managed to beat the ‘national’ distribution newspapers. It has an average weekday circulation of 443,024 copies. Its weekday reader is 982,000. (a single copy may be read by several people)
