This year has been quite the rollercoaster for Bare Oaks, with an unbelievable number of surprise expenses that have left us both frustrated and exhausted. It seems like everything that could break, did break, and often at the most inconvenient times. Here’s a rundown of the unexpected challenges we faced and how we managed to keep our spirits high despite the setbacks. First, we discovered a pool leak under the concrete deck, which was not only expensive to fix but also time-consuming. Then one of our septic systems decided to give up on us. This was a major issue that required immediate attention, and theRead More →

The 2015 Lee Baxandall Memorial Volleyball Tournament is August 14th to 16th. New Lower Prices!! Based on some research we conducted and the feedback we’ve received, the pricing structure has been completely revised. Instead of focusing on long-stay packages, we now charge by the day. This is to make it easier for new people who may not want to commit to more than one day as well as to encourage individuals who can’t attend all the days due to other commitments. Each day is now a separate tournament. Because one of the objectives of the tournament is to encourage people to try naturism for theRead More →

Bitcoin is now accepted for payment at Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park and The Bare Boutique. It can be used to pay for purchases both in person and online. A virtual currency is perfect for people without pockets! Privacy is a concern for some of our members and visitors. They fear being judged because of their beliefs. We could certainly debate whether that’s a real issue in today’s world but we can’t argue that is how some people feel. The anonymity of bitcoin can provide some reassurance. From a business standpoint, bitcoin is very easy to use and has a low transaction cost. (much betterRead More →

The 2014 invoicing for memberships and campsites was sent out a few weeks ago. As usual payment is due April 1st but we provide a significant discount for early payment.  A few people have complained that the deadline is very close to the date they received their invoice. It is true that some invoices were sent out several weeks later than planned due to some technical issues. As such, we are extending the early payment discount by one week. In order to get the rebate, you must now pay by December 22nd. For details, please see the letter included with your invoice. If you haveRead More →

You may have wondered why so many of the $5 bills you get at Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park have been stamped with the words “Track this bill online: www.WheresWilly.com”. That’s because we’re participating in a currency tracking website called Where’s Willy? (related to the US version called Where’s George?) “Willy” is a reference to The Right Honourable Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911, who adorns the Canadian $5 bill. Why?  Because it is fun to see just how far money travels from Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park. So far, we’ve entered the serial number of 354 $5 bills andRead More →
