It used to be that visits to a naturist club were limited. (typically 3 times) After that, you had to take out a membership or you were not allowed to visit anymore. Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park is hosting a clothing drive Saturday, June 9th from 10am to 1pm. We heard there was a need for various items at local shelters and, with the community spirit that is Bare Oaks, we decided to rise to the call. Items collected on Saturday will go to one of three places: Yellow Brick House, Blue Door Shelter, or to the Goodwill. There’s a lot of volleyball going on at Bare Oaks.  Last year was our first year to have regular casual volleyball games on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Then our first tournament of the year was the 5th Annual Greater Toronto Naturist Volleyball Tournaments. That was followed by a mini-tournament held during the FCN Naturist Festival in August. Yesterday, the York Region Department of Health Inspector gave us the green light to announce that the pool is open!! The picture shows the first people to jump into the pool this year. But the water was cold. While the sun is shining on the solar heaters, it is a slow process. So we will be giving them a bit of a boost with the propane heater in time for the weekend. The renovated showers/washroom/sauna area is finally done!!  That took a lot longer than we ever anticipated (nearly 2 months) but the resulting change is quite dramatic! The new showers feature both a rain head and a handheld. And unlike the old ones, this new shower area is bright, open and barrier-free. It’s been designed with everyone in mind.
