Today, we are allowed to enter Stage 3 Reopening. That means: All sports activities are now allowed as long as they don’t include “Prolonged or deliberate contact while playing sports.” That means that Volleyball is back! The Bare Bistro‘s indoor dining room is now open, The playground is now open. All indoor spaces are now open but saunas remain closed by government order. For weeks people have been asking when they will be able to come and camp. Some very patient folks have been making reservations and resolutely moving them forward as we waited for the government to reopen short-term camping. Well that day has finally arrived!!   For the first time, the Bare Bistro has been opened through the winter. We kept that news relatively quiet because it was a test. Restaurant operations were serviced by the person in charge of the office and store. That meant that when a member or visitor wanted a meal or drink, the team member had to close the office and switch to the restaurant kitchen. Yesterday, the York Region Department of Health Inspector gave us the green light to announce that the pool is open!! The picture shows the first people to jump into the pool this year. But the water was cold. While the sun is shining on the solar heaters, it is a slow process. So we will be giving them a bit of a boost with the propane heater in time for the weekend.
