Volunteer Day is Back!
After a two year absence it's time again for our annual volunteer day. While there are many people volunteering all year, this is the day we set aside for a massive volunteer effort to get things ready for the season. Ontario has reverted to a modified stage 2 of reopening. That means at Bare Oaks that the hot tub and sauna are now closed. Gatherings are limited to 5 people indoors and 10 outdoors. The Bare Bistro is only open for take-out. Full details are available here: The government announcement calls this latest measure "temporary" and "time-limited" without specifying any time limit. We have finally received some (not all) of the new keyfobs and temporary keybands that we ordered over 5 months ago! As you may have heard, there is a computer chip shortage in the world and that affected this order. (For the technically-minded, we need NXP MIFARE Classic 4K chips.) What normally takes a few weeks took nearly half a year! Many people, including ourselves, were not very happy with the previous silicone bands.
